We welcomed Jamison Doran on board in March as our newest Partner, and our first ever Director of Digital Fundraising. Jamison led the digital fundraising team at the DCCC that raised a record-breaking $112 million during the 2020 cycle. She spent three cycles at the DCCC and has more than a decade of experience running digital programs for Democratic candidates and organizations. She knows firsthand how smart and compelling digital can lead to success and is committed to utilizing digital for good.

Jamison is passionate about raising money online for progressive clients and knows what it takes to cut through the noise. She’s excited to continue to build our COMPETE’s digital fundraising services and would love to talk to you about your fundraising needs.

Marcella Violano, who was Jamison’s right hand at the DCCC, joined COMPETE in April as our Lead Fundraising Strategist. Marcella brings her expertise in digital grassroots fundraising to her role here at COMPETE. She spent 3 cycles with the DCCC, mastering both email and SMS fundraising. Her efforts specifically in SMS fundraising brought in a record $13 million for House Democrats in the 2020 cycle.

COMPETE is now set up to offer cutting edge digital fundraising strategies alongside the rest of the cutting edge digital services you already know and love them for.

Mackenzie Lucas joined the team in January as a Digital Strategist. Mackenzie is a digital media and communications professional passionate about building brands, campaigns, and online movements for positive change. She started her career as a Web Designer, and jumped over into politics as one of the first Digidems in 2018. After a stint as a Communications Director for a frontline member in the U.S. House of Representatives, she brings a unique combination of digital and political experience to our team. In her role as Digital Strategist at COMPETE, she builds kick-ass websites, compiles reports, and places digital ads to help progressive campaigns win.

Mackenzie has been responsible for some incredible websites during her time at COMPETE, including the House Democratic Caucus’ HR1 Website and the Virginia Democratic Party’s VirginiaInsurrectionists.com.

If you need a compelling, responsive, and beautiful website built, Mackenzie is your woman.

Our 2020 and Beginning of 2021 Recap

We also started off our year by taking a moment to look back on the amazing work our creative team did for the 2020 cycle. In our first cycle in business, we worked with 100 different campaigns in 24 different states, developing awesome content for every type of political and public affairs campaign under the sun. Our creative department crushed it, creating hundreds of completely unique and compelling pieces for all of our clients.

If you haven’t had a chance already, take a few minutes right now to check out our 2020 COMPETE Highlight Reel.

To learn more about our work and team outside of the creative department, check out our snazzy new Why Work With COMPETE? infomercial.

We thought that the first quarter of 2021 would get off to a slow start, but our public affairs clients have kept us incredibly busy. We all choose to work at COMPETE because we care about the issues, and public affairs have a special place in our digital-loving hearts. Whether our clients are fighting for safe and healthy workplace conditions for education professionals, or making sure people have access to clean energy options, we are proud to help them draw constituent attention to their cause and get them to take action.

We hope all of you are staying safe and healthy, and hope to work with you as the cycle progresses!
